Forget Alaska, I'm wondering what she was doing in that isolated cluster of islands in the Arctic Ocean? :)

Hey Rohan,

We got our visa done through TT services Bangalore.

Actually, we found out most of the details on the net, including all the documents required. Here is the website.

http://www.ttsdropbox.com/

Once we got all the documents ready, we contacted TT services. Here are the Chennai and Bangalore office contact details. Both offices were quite helpful, but the Chennai office was much more efficient. And oh btw, a personal appearance at the consulate is mandatory now. After submission of papers and personal interview it took us around 3 working days. But I would say, it takes around a week's time to get all the papers, sort it, get it verified by TT services, and then go for the interview. On the whole, I would say, keep 10 days for the whole procedure. Ours was a really close shave!

Thanks very much for the information. :-) Additionally did going in a group make a difference? Did the consulate know that you were going in a group? Did they ask any questions in this regard?

They definitely check on whether you are going in a course.

Going in a group was an advantage, as well as a disadvantage. Advantage because its gave us more credibility as tourists; disadvantage because they insisted on doing all visas together. My roomie had a problem with one of her documents, and she had to resubmit. Mine had no issues, but they insisted they will do it with hers.

Hi:)

This was done through the German consulate.

I think you need to be careful on your bank account details. You need to either show that you have enough money to support yourself for the trip..or that you have a sponsor who is paying for the trip. They were quite particular on checking up on that. As far as I remember, that was that the pain point with us.

Other than they did not not really check upon the other documents. Let me know if you need any info on the docs. Right now, its fresh in my memory, or I could check up with my roomie.

Oh thanks so much that was helpful. The reason I had asked was my travel agent is planning to get my visa via Austria cause apparently one does not require a personal interview!Would be great if thats the case.

The documents so far seem doable.Another friend of ours is in business so things are a little tricky for him. Were there any non salaried people among you'll?

Also how did you'll travel around :)?We're currently in quite a quandary as to whether we should take the eurail or do a road trip.
